Monmouth County Is Among Nation’s Most Energy-Efficient HVAC Regions

September 13, 2023

Monmouth County was recently named one of the most HVAC energy efficient areas of the country, according to American Residential Services (ARS), AJ Perri's parent company. Monmouth County ranked #15 on ARS/Rescue Rooter's list of the Top 25 Most Energy Efficient Cities in America.

ARS/Rescue Rooter put together the list based on the installation of energy-efficient residential cooling and heating systems through the ARS/Rescue Rooter network of service areas in America.

HVAC system energy efficiency can be measured in two different ways. The efficiency of an air conditioning unit is typically measured using a metric called Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio or SEER. The efficiency of a furnace is typically measured using a metric called Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency or AFUE. In both cases, a higher rating indicates a more efficient unit.

ARS/Rescue Rooter ranked the cities and regions by those with the highest mix of high efficiency units (higher end SEER/AFUE values) relative to the total units installed in that market. Monmouth County was the 15th most energy efficient region in the United States according to this criteria.

"Residents should always be on the lookout for ways to identify savings with energy-efficient cooling and heating upgrades," said Chris Tulloch, General Manager of A.J. Perri. "Energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment is better for the environment, saves on energy consumption costs, and can also translate into big tax savings."

Energy efficiency has been a hot topic in the HVAC industry, especially since the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The August 2022 legislation could give homeowners tax credits up to $3,200 dollars for upgrading their HVAC and plumbing to more energy efficient systems.

"One of the main purposes of the Inflation Reduction Act is to encourage homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient. These tax incentives are available right away, and when you combine them with seasonal discounts, it's the perfect time to get in touch with your local ARS/Rescue Rooter pro for a comfort assessment."

"One of the main purposes of the Inflation Reduction Act is to incentivize making energy efficient improvements to the home," said Scott Boose, President and CEO of ARS/Rescue Rooter. "The tax incentives are available immediately, and these benefits combined with seasonal discounts make this the ideal time to contact your local ARS/Rescue Rooter professional for a comfort assessment."
